Taiko DAO said it has submitted Security Council Proposal 24, a package of contract upgrades covering four proxy contracts tied to the bridge and ERC20 Vault on Ethereum and Taiko, along with a new resolver registration on L2. The proposal includes three main changes. One would fix a known issue that causes delivery failures when tokens with Taiko as the canonical chain are bridged to Ethereum for the first time, leaving messages stuck in a RETRIABLE state even though funds remain safe. Another would raise the gas cap for ETH forwarding through the bridge from 35,000 to 135,000 to prevent smart contract wallets from becoming unable to claim messages after the EIP-8037, or Glamsterdam, upgrade. The third would add single-signature ERC20 bridging with support for EIP-2612 and Uniswap Permit2, removing the need for a separate approval transaction. Taiko said the code involved in the proposal has already been audited, and TAIKO holders have about 10 days to exercise veto rights.
